Yoga for Runners (and everyone) Workshop
Yoga for Runners
As a repetitive movement, running can overwork specific muscles.
Yoga for runners can help to keep you in perfect shape for the road as you work on lengthening tight muscles and, even more importantly, build strength in the hips, glutes, legs and ankles.
In this workshop we’ll target all these areas with a mix of functional yoga drills and postures to speed up recovery and restore a natural range of motion.
Road runners will benefit from building strength in the feet and trail runners will enjoy improving their balance for navigating those tree roots! Yoga for runners will be able to help all types of runners.
We’ll practice ujjayi breath to help keep the mind focussed and improve your breathing throughout your run.
We’ll round off with a some post-run soothing stretches you can incorporate at home before finishing with a soothing relaxation (equally important as it allows those muscles to heal and rebuild even stronger, thicker and longer).
This workshop is ideal if you:
- run occasionally, often or just as a beginner
- spend lots of time walking in your role at work, like post office workers
- enjoy sports such as indoor cycling, badminton, squash or workout at the gym
